Why is playback on Chrome in Windows not working?

The playback of video is interrupted because Chrome may be missing the WidevineCdm component. Follow the steps below to update your WidevineCdm component.

If on a Windows PC:

Note: Anti-virus and/or firewall software installed on your Windows computer can prevent the WidevineCdm from updating successfully. It’s highly recommended that you disable your anti-virus and/or firewall temporarily before checking for an update. Once the component has been updated, turn your security software back on.

  • In the address bar on the Chrome browser, type chrome://components and press Enter or Return on your keyboard.
  • Locate the WidevineCdm component.
  • Select “Check for update.”
  • Once you see “Status - Component updated,” restart the Chrome browser and try logging into fullscreen.
  • Note: If you see the message “Component not updated,” Chrome may still be running on your computer. To resolve this, restart your computer, then try the above steps again.

If on a MAC:
